On the morning of August 28, 2020, the press conferences of the 16th China Beijing International Construction Machinery, Building Materials Machines and Mining Machines Exhibition and Seminar (hereinafter referred to as "BICES 2021") was held with the theme of "Digital, Efficient, Green and Reliable “in Beijing Grand Hyatt Hotel by the show organizers jointly, that is China Construction Machinery Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as CCMA), Machinery Sub-Council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (hereinafter referred to as "CCPIT-MSC") and China Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CNCMC"). 

The conference was hosted by Mr. Zhou Weidong, Vice Chairman of CCPIT-MSC and addressed by Mr. Qi Jun, Chairman of CCMA, Mr. Su Zimeng, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CCMA, Mr. Wu Peiguo, Assistant to Chairman of CCMA and Chairman of BICES Show, Mr. Lv Ying, Deputy Secretary General of CCMA and General Manager of BICES Show, Mr. Lijin, General Manager of CNCMC, Mr. Ma Chengbiao, Dean of the Science and Technology Development Research Institute of China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CRCHI") respectively about China construction machinery industry and market development, preparation and highlights of BICES 2021, buyers and visitors invitation and concurrent conference and activities.

More than 100 media representatives and guests, including representative from partners and users’ organizations, such as AEM, Beijing Municipal Road and Bridge Group Co., Ltd., and China State Construction and Civil Engineering Co., Ltd., presented at the conference and witnessed the official kick off BICES 2021 show. 

First, Chairman Qi Jun expressed his appreciation on behalf of CCMA to the guests who presented at the conference, and then reviewed the development of China's construction machinery industry in recent years. Chairman Qi pointed out that China's construction machinery industry and market went through a five-year downturn in development from 2011 to 2016, then ushered in rapid recovery and growth in 2017 and 2018, and had a stable development in 2019. According to CCMA statistics, the whole industry achieved 668.1 billion RMB in operating income in 2019 with an annual increase of 12% compared to 2018. Although the first half of 2020 was affected by the epidemic, while thanks to the remarkable results achieved by China’s national wide control and anti-epidemic work, with step by step resume of work and production in China, and more stringent environmental emission requirements being actively implemented, the construction equipment sales volume got increased month by month in the first half of 2020.

From January to July 2020, according to CCMA's statistics on 12 major construction machinery products, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders, truck cranes, crawler cranes, truck-mounted cranes, industrial vehicles, road rollers, pavers, construction lifting work platforms and AWPs, the cumulative sales of 12 types of construction machinery products reached 797,929 units, a year-on-year increase of 18%, and out of which 138,182 units were exported, a year-on-year increase of 3.46%. During the same time, the 12 enterprise groups that CCMA followed up had a total operating income of 235,61456 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.3%. In general, C.E. market in the first quarter of 2020 were lower than expected, while, sales in the second quarter caught up, and the overall market and sales situation in the second quarter was better than that in the first quarter.

Looking forward to the development of China's construction machinery market in 2020, Chairman Qi said that CCMA expects a steady growth in domestic construction machinery market demand. Judging from the current international epidemic control and development situations and other facts, China’s construction machinery exports will face greater challenges, and more efforts are needed to maintain growth. For 2021, the domestic market demand for construction machinery will maintain steady growth with continuous huge investment in China’s infrastructure development. BICES 2021 will be again a great show and events for the industry with more highlights, and will provide users and exhibitors with an efficient communication and procurement platform. Mr. Su Zimeng, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CCMA, made a keynote speech on "Hold the BICES 2021 Exhibition Successfully and Make New Contributions to the High-quality Development of the Industry"

First, on behalf of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association and the show organizers, Mr.Su extended a warm welcome to friends who participated in the press conference, and express his heartfelt thanks to the relevant government departments, exhibitors, news medias, users, visitors, partners, and people from all walks of life who have cared about, supported and participated in the BICES show.

Then, Mr. Su briefly reviewed the success and highlights of BICES 2019. At the same time, Mr. Su stressed that 2021 will be the first year for the implementation of the 14th China National Five-Year Plan when China will build a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way and achieve its first centennial goal, BICES 2021 exhibition is of even more special significance for the development of the industry.

Su Zimeng pointed out five work priorities for the preparation of BICES 2021 as follows:

1. BICES 2021 will set up a photo show area of scientific and technological innovation achievements in the construction machinery industry to fully display the excellence of technological innovation in the construction machinery industry.

2. BICES 2021 will focus on the new requirement of both domestic and foreign market in the future, set up the relative themed exhibition halls and professional exhibition areas, and display the latest service capabilities and levels in the fields of construction machinery, building materials machinery and mining machinery.

3. To consolidate industry strength and social consensus, and take full use of the advantages of the organizer’s resources, and do a better job in visitors’ invitation and show activities arrangement.

4. To maintain close communication and co-operation with media friends, and do a good job in the publicity and report of BICES 2021, and ensure to provide thoughtful services to all players.

5. Get BICES 2021 preparation work run and done professionally and actively, so that everyone will come with joy and return with satisfaction.

Finally, Mr. Su stated that organizers will, based on the successful experience gained in the previous shows, continue to solicit suggestions and opinions from exhibitors, users, and medias, and strive to improve show services in respect of service procedure, booth construction, on-site management, and transportation, accommodation and tourism, so that to build BICES 2021 to be an international first-class trade show, and a high-quality industry event providing both exhibitors and users with platform to conduct communication, trade and   co-operation, and hence to assist exhibitors to improve technological innovation, brand promotion and market expansion there.

Mr. Lv said that it was since the successful end of BICES 2019, show organizers and operation team have begun to prepare for the following events. On March 10, 2020, we officially announced that BICES 2021 will be held from September 14 to 17, 2021 at China ( Beijing) New International Exhibition Center with theme of "Digital, Efficient, Green and Reliable". BICES 2021 is expected to take use of 6 indoor halls and the eastern outdoor area, strive to become the world's most influential construction machinery industry event and the leading construction equipment show in Asia.

Mr. Lv then introduced the progress of BICES 2021 preparations, stressed that the organizers will further utilize the unique advantages of BICES show, that is industrial advantages, geographical advantages, venue advantages, brand advantages, and the advantages of the organizers, to get BICES 2021 organize with high quality. At the same time, Mr. Lv illustrated BICES 2021 ground plan, which consists of 4 indoor halls titled as

1. the green development exhibition hall, 2. heavy equipment exhibition hall, 3. high-end components and parts exhibition hall, 4. the intelligent and industrial digital exhibition hall, and one indoor photo show corridor area showing the scientific and technological innovation, and the outdoor comprehensive exhibition area, and other special show areas , such as emergency rescue equipment and ice and snow equipment exhibition area, local regional equipment exhibition area, commercial vehicle and logistics equipment exhibition area, construction machinery cultural experience area, intelligent and digital experience area, outdoor challengers and demonstration area .

Meanwhile, Mr.Lv briefed about the main concurrent meetings and conferences, which he pointed out will promote the in-depth communication and interaction between exhibitors and visitors. Speaking about visitor’s invitation, Mr. Lv stressed that organizers will widely extend invitations to government organizations, central state owned construction groups, contractors and users’ association, institutes, rental companies and service companies,  and carefully plan and organize professional forums and seminars .

Meanwhile, Mr. Wu hosted the launching ceremony of the 6th BICES Construction Machinery and Special Vehicle Creative Design Competition that is sponsored by China Railway Construction Heavy Industry. Mr. Wu briefed the development of previous competitions and explained the competition theme of "Innovation, Intelligence, Green, and Foresight". The competition will be held from August 28, 2020 to May 30, 2021 in the whole industry and universities across the country with free participation. The competition has received strong support from colleges, manufacturing companies, scientific research institutions, social groups, medias, and related industry organizations, which will contribute to the development of the industry in broadening international horizons, releasing design potential, and displaying creative imagination.

Mr. Ma expressed that he was very pleased to be invited to participate in the BICES 2021 press conference and the launching ceremony of the “CRCHI Cup” 6th BICES Construction Machinery and Special Vehicle Creative Design Competition, to kick off the wonderful BICES 2021 with everyone here.
